Spring 2023 Fashion Week Shows
If there’s anything we’ve learnt from the Spring 2023 fashion shows, it’s that umbrellas are having a major moment - and we think it’s about time!
It’s not just weeks of consecutive rainy days that cast a liquid spell over fashion week, drenching guests at Moncler in Milan and Givenchy in Paris. Watermarks were everywhere at the shows this season, from the water wing couture at both Burberry and Moschino to the intentionally wet clothing at SC103 and Di Petsa.
At Balenciaga, Demna spoke about the mud representing a reconnection to the Earth. You could read it as the latest in his elemental shows (having cycled through water, fire, the cinema, the snowglobe, and the sales floor of late), but watching models muck it up backstage read more like a reflection of how the environment plays back onto clothes. Luke and Lucie Meier nailed it at Jil Sander, giving their models umbrellas for their rainy outdoor show. Look beyond the spectacle of the show: People have to wear these clothes somewhere—and thanks to global warming the world is wetter than ever.
Good thing our umbrellas are the most eco-friendly choice out there, and with an entire rainbow of colours and prints available, we have something for everyone - and every outfit.
