Our mission at Original Duckhead is to combat the throwaway culture in the umbrella industry through conscious design. By recycling post-consumer plastic waste, we aim to save millions of bottles from landfills and oceans. To date, we've repurposed over 4 million bottles, with a goal of recycling 10 million by 2030.
Founded in 2012, Original Duckhead leads the industry in using recycled fabrics and creating everyday products that encourage thoughtful consumerism. We champion sustainable values and aim to revolutionise the umbrella industry.
Inspired by our planet, our collections encourage outdoor exploration, embracing nature, and living happier, more fulfilled lives. We celebrate colour, pioneer sustainable practices, and focus on people and progress.
Our journey began with identifying a critical flaw: the umbrella industry's throwaway culture. Our founder's solution was simple: design umbrellas that repurpose plastic waste, using nine post-consumer bottles for every umbrella canopy, addressing both waste and the global climate crisis.
We only use high-strength steel for our frames, to ensure they can stand the test of even the strongest gales of wind and heaviest thunderstorms. To finish it off, we pack each one of our orders with recycled and biodegradable packaging.
